The Flame

Like two candles standing tall,
and helpless in the wind,
its together they can make,
the burning flame again.

Yet silence just fufills,
the words they wish to say,
and the wind blows even stronger,
with every passing day.

Why not speak the truthful words,
that each flame needs to live?
The flames will die and so will the love,
that neither is willing to give.

So say just what you wish ,
and the candles will survive,
through the wind - and the rain,
they will remain alive.

I believe that through time, or whilest in the wait of signifcant events- you find who you are instead of what others want you to be. Growing up is not as easy as it may seem. You are always being hammered and surrounded with people who are not only judgemental and rude, but those who are not afraid in changing who you are capable of becomming. Feeling as though you need to change your self, you may not know where to start critiquing first. Let this be nowhere. It is ok to feel scared. It is ok to feel humble. We all do. The very idea of learning not to listen to these commentries is percisely when you are able to begin your journey in discovering yourself. The road we travel is long and hard, however life is what you decide to make of it. Learning to follow your dreams even if others are driven to tear them down. It takes confidence and pride to stand up for what you believe in, yet few can prevail and prove to be stronger than how they appear. You must stand up for yourself even when knowing very well that consequences are sure to follow. How else do you think the people who made history became so great? Rosa Parks and her declairment of refusal, and Thomas Jefferson pleadging the Delcaration of Independance, just to name a few. And then there is You. The opportunity is there, but are you willing to take it? Sometimes however, people will laugh at you, or gossip about you. They are then unsure of your the strength and bravery found within you to stand up to them. This is exactly why say what they please. Do you have power to stand up to them? Sure you do, and while proving it to them, you are proving it to yourself too. Show confidence, pride, and dedication in everything you do. Yes, it may be hard. It always seems as though Just when you build a castle, fate plays its roll in making sure this beautiful masterpeice is torn down. That very aspect is what gives you the ability to look at things, and just laugh. But it is how you handle these twists and turns that make your life story worth reading. Dont be one to sit there and let life pass you by, let it be just the contrary-become life passing others by. The chance to be great and known is being served to you on a silver platter waiting for you to take in everything given to you, and then some. And as Ralph Emerson says, "You can only be what you are willing to allow yourself to become."
